What the service does
The assistant collects information and explains the process in plain language. A separate rules-based clinical decision tool assesses the structured answers and presents its reasoning to the pharmacist.
Who makes the decision
The pharmacist remains responsible for confirming identity, checking clinical suitability, resolving warnings, counselling the patient and deciding whether supply is appropriate. The assistant and decision tool do not prescribe or approve medication.
What we are building for
The service is designed to reduce repetitive administration while preserving the pharmacist's clinical review. It records why a recommendation was made, supports continuation and initiation pathways, and keeps patient safety information available during the accepted consultation.
